11. Ancient sunglasses

These ancient sunglasses only remotely resemble their modern counterparts, but they were made for the same purpose. The design of the sunglasses, the small eye holes, for instance, was to protect the eyes from an extensive sunlight. Oftentimes the glasses were used in the winter time when the sun glare becomes more bright during snowy days. Mostly, people from the arctic regions of Canada used them.

One of the most ancient dental work dates back to 14,000 years ago when a young man's tooth was drilled out.

One of the tablets contains a hymn – the oldest jotted down music in the world. It's interesting to know that it also includes instructions as to how the musician should play it.

The most ancient piece of Earth is zircon from Australia. It was unearthed 17 years ago near Perth, Western Australia. This zircon is a nesosilicate mineral and is believed to be the oldest mineral ever.

This slipper-like leather shoe was found in a cave in Armenia. A 5,500 years old footwear was stuffed with grass and covered with a sheep waste. which helped to preserve it well. The right foot shoe is size 7 in the US and belonged to a woman.

Chewing gum was also popular among the Neolithic people of Finland. A British student discovered a piece of birch bark tar some 5,000 years old at the excavation site in 1993. The Neolithic people believed that birch tree tar had antiseptic qualities and could treat teeth and gum-related infections.

In 2008, Russian archeologists discovered what it is thought to be the oldest piece of jewelry in the world - some 70,000 years old bracelet. It was unearthed in a cave in Siberia and believed to belong to humans of Denisovan culture. The bracelet has drilled holes -scientists still cannot explain how a culture that is almost 100,000 years old could have a drilling technology that would not have been developed until at least late Neolithic period. Nevertheless, the bracelet is made of chlorite that gives it an exceptionally beautiful green color.

Bonus: 5,000-year-old hugging lovers

The Lovers of Valdaro, or the "Valdaro Lovers," were discovered at a Neolithic tomb in San Giorgio near Mantua, Italy. Archaeologists immediately established the fact that one of these skeletons is male and the other is female. Also, they both were no older than 20 years old when they were buried. The burial was estimated to be between 5,000 and 6,000 years ago. The cause of death of the couple is still unclear, but scientists can definitely say that there was no evidence of a violent death.
